Operation Swarn: The Sealdah-New Delhi Rajdhani Express has become the first long-distance train to be upgraded under Indian Railways new Operation Swarn. The new initiative aims to upgrade several Shatabdi and Rajdhani Express trains across the Indian railways network to 'Gold' standards. As many as 10 parameters have been identified by Indian Railways to upgrade the passenger experience on these premium passenger trains. Rs 50 lakh each has been allotted for the upgradation of each train. Recently, the New Delhi-Kathgodam Shatabdi Express had been upgraded under this scheme.
