For South India, following realignment are required:
1. Limit SR PGT division boundary to Manjeshwar. Attach MAQ, MAJN to SWR. Extend Karwar division boundary from Thokur to MAJN.
2. Add Pollachi Kinathukadavu section from PGT to MDU, along with Kinathukadavu to Podanur from SA to MDU. Will help in running trains seamlessly between MDU CBE.

7. Transfer MAO VSG to KR Karwar division.
8. GTL WADI to be retained in SCR irrespective of whether GTL division goes to SCoR or not.

There should be clear policy on number of zones for each state. I feel it should be max 2 or 3. If any zone has some area / big town in a state, the zone should have a division HQ in that state.
For example, if SR wants to retain MAQ or CR wants to retain Wadi Kalaburagi, those divisions should have their division HQ in MAQ and KLBG.
For Karnataka, SWR for south and north west parts, SCR for North east part and Konkan railway for coastal part. SR and CR areas should get realigned to SCR or SWR. 5 zones for Karnataka is toooooo much.

Merge TVC and PGT divisions into a new ERS division. Give away Karnataka and Tamilnadu areas of PGT and TVC areas to SWR MYS and SR MDU divisons.
I meant all beyond Manjeshwar in north to SWR. All beyond NCJ and upto TEN to MDU division. Beyond POY to MDU. Get QLN Tenkasi from Madurai.
Entire Kerala will be in one division. Any number of Intra state fast passengers (JS VB ICE all are Fast passengers in Kerala) can be run.

Nice narration.
Kerala has total 935 kms of railway lines (Parassala TO Manjeshwar, Kayamkulam to Ernakulam via Alappuzha, Thrissur to Guruvayoor, Shoranur to Nilambur, Palakkad to Muthalamada). 935 kms does not justify 2 divisions, as there are many divisions having 1200 to 1300 kms in a single division(example Guntakal, Secunderabad).
Keeping continuity part, upto and excluding NCJ and upto and excluding POY can be with a single integrated Kerala division with HQ at Ernakulam.

A daily dedicated ONT from MAQ TO SBC by SR PGT is a must. They have all resources to run 5 dailies to TVC and 4 dailies to MAS but have only platform issues for Bangalore trains.

Similarly, MG era PGT RMM and CBE RMM trains are missing in Pollachi line. The demand for a ONT between CBE MDU is yet to materialise.

If 935 kms of railway lines deserve 2 divisions in the same zone (referring to Kerala), how many divisions would be required for a state having 2935 kms line (referring to Karnataka)? At present, karnataka has just 3 divisions but 5 zones are controlling. Even Uttar Pradesh may not be having this much complexity of zone and divisions.
It is necessary to create 2 more divisions and bring entire Karnataka into 2 zones from current 5 zones mess. Considering the practical geographical constraints, I am not suggesting being entire state railway lines to one zone.

Palakkad division was not as old as you think. It was formed by killing the then Podanur division in 1950s. Now, Podanur station is just a way side station without any importance -- all due to neglect.

Waltair division is being dismantled and new Rayagada division under ECOR and BZA division on SCR to take care of old Waltair division lones.
Similarly why not dismantle Palakkad division and create new Mangalore division under SWR and attach lines north of Shoranur to Mangalore along with Hassan Mangalore and Konkan lines to it? SRR Podanur and PGT POY can be attached to TVC.

Seems the idea is to spoil CBE SBC Connectivity.
Let me propose a solution.
16301/16302 TVC SRR Venad Express to be extended to Bangalore SMVB. Can retain TT upto Shoranur as it is. From there, SRR 1300 CBE 1515 SA 1740 SMVB 2200. Next day morning, start from SMVB at 0545 SA 1000 CBE 1220 SRR 1430 and continue as it is to TVC. Win win for TVC and PGT division as day time train running to Bangalore.

Along with this, curtail current 12677/12678 SBC ERS SF as SBC CBE SF, as originally planned. Can come from Bangalore to Coimbatore and go back in the afternoon. Can start from SBC at 0630 to reach CBE by 1330 and start back at 1430 to reach SBC by 2130.

CBE gets a dedicated ICE to Bangalore.
No loss to PGT TCR ERS as they will get Venad.
Gain to KTYM QLN TVC as they get a daily day time train to Bangalore.

If above suggestion is accepted, no additional rake is required. Now, 2 rakes are used for ERS SBC SF and one rake for Venad. In the revised scenario, it will be 2 rakes for Venad and one rake for ERS SBC SF.

If this idea of TVC SBC of Venad is stupid, what about those travelling in MS GUV via MDU TVC and MS MAQ via TPJ CBE SRR? These are trains running daily inside Kerala.

Already, people are used to sit for 11 hours in SBC ERS ICE. Similar daytime trains run inside Kerala like Parashuram and Ernad. How people sit in those trains?

Thanks for your understanding. My logic is simple.
If a train terminating at MAQ is getting extended to Kerala, I will ask for extension of Maveli/ Malabar/ Parashuram/ Ernakulam to Bangalore/ Mysore. I will ask for extension of west coast to Murudeshwar.
If a train terminating at CBE is getting extended to Kerala, I will ask for extending Venad to Bangalore. I will ask for extension of Netravathi to Tirunelveli.

Agreed. But the bias towards neighbouring states' towns by both TVC and PGT is not correct. The way NCJ CAPE MAQ POY are treated by these divisions is not acceptable. Because of those towns, both divisions are existing (600 km criteria). Else, it would have ended up with a single integrated division.
With current scenario, even divisions can be dismantled, realigned and merged with others (Waltair division being bifurcated between ECOR and SCR). Pune division got Daund Manmad line from SUR recently.

What about other 4 days? Why YPR Bidar starts at 2315 and halts at odd places to reach late? Why can't YPR BIDR and SMVB KLBG be made bi weekly or tri weekly in a single schedule like 2340 at YPR and 0900 at KLBG?
If needed, 22534 YPR GKP and Duronto can be made to leave 10 to 15 minutes early/ late to make YPR KLBG BIDR a daily service.

Just saw. SMVB KLBG is tri weekly but running as 2 different sets of numbers. Along with YPR BIDR, we have 4 days connectivity established.
But, KLBG trains are just specials and can be discontinued at SWR's wish. Why can't these be combined and regularised as a YPR BIDR via KLBG daily train? Slight TT adjustment can be done at both ends.

Forget elections. Bangalore and Mumbai are big metros big enough to run a proper SF train. When 100+ buses are running between these 2 cities, railways is not seeing or smelling any need to run a good train.
If CSMT or DR or LTT have platform issues, they can plan trains from/ to Panvel.
5000 passengers travel between Bangalore Mumbai everyday. Means 2 trains can be filled. Thus is apart from those buses running from Mumbai to Belgaum Hubli Ballari Mysore Hassan etc.
