I remember a lot of people used to mention how Sleeper and General class were loss makers and needed to be terminated as a whole.

What do y'all think about this? Loss making VBs. Some times ago I also made a post about how useless Bhopal - Indore VB was and Sampoorna Kranti's unreserved class was making more revenue than that of Bhopal - Indore VB.
...

Clearly, Indian Railways and the Government are also at fault for Railway's loss making nature and not just some exclusive classes like SL or GS.

I wonder why I haven't received even one reply or ping from the anti unreserved/non ac class gang of this site. Whatever I've spoken are facts and even previously my posts were backed by facts, guess the people who love rhetoric don't like facts when it's put up against them. These VBs are pretty much making loss and are a burden on railways.

Sleeper class that runs at 100% occupancy but makes loss vs VB, which runs at 40% occupancy and makes loss.
...

Which one is better? Clearly the earlier one, atleast the Sleeper one is running full and people are getting the benefit of Railways despite that class making loss. These VBs are neither making profit nor is it benefitting people to the fullest. I've always said that Government and Railway's policies are the biggest cause of loss in the sector, not some class or passengers.

This is what Neo Liberalism does to a country, segregating passengers and rampant inequality that only serves upper middle/elite class of the system.

I was against UR/SL passengers entering AC classes but now? I actually have no opinion on this issue. What choice is left for these passengers? There's merely 2 GS and 2 SL coaches in some of the most important and overcrowded trains that serve underprivileged regions.

No offense but I'm still trying to figure out how tf is your message related to my post, you're trying to prove that VBs are useful and I never said that they're not useful. I agree with you that VBs are useful, you and anyone can go check out my previous posts where I've appreciated VBs which run on full occupancy and are hit.

My whole point in my post was that the fact that "SL and GS are solely pushing Railways into loss" Is just pure bullshit because political VBs
...

are also making loss, running at really low occupancy - are basically white elephants. The point that SL and GS are the only reason for IR making loss is usually pushed by the boot lickers of certain political party.

The fact that Indian Railways is loss maker, it lies into the political nature of Railways more so than any exclusive class like unnecessary halts/trains etc, that was what my point was and you missed it out.

"Even the least patronage VB would partially fillup during Festival season, while SL & Gen coaches will make losses even when fully occupied, so comparison is not valid."

So? What's your point? Even the least patronage VB does fills up in Festive Season but it still makes loss just like SL and GS, that is the whole point of the post. I don't really get what you meant by your message.

I'm not sure about anyone else but I pretty much am suited for this kind of debates, I've indulged in a lot of them actually.

Regarding "Profit" or "Revenue", how come any train or any entity will make profit if it's revenue itself is less than the cost it takes to operate it? It's clearly mentioned that cost of operating that VB is 2.5 times more than the "Revenue". Not even profit.
...

Regarding my post for Sampoorna Kranti one, it was guesstimate and even if you chose not to believe it (no one's forcing you to)

/blog/post/5770084

You can still believe Sleeper revenue which comes from Sampoorna Kranti, it's not like Sampoorna Kranti's Sleeper class is ever going to run at any lower occupancy than 100% at any given day (maybe some exception but I highly doubt that too)

Point was, even Sleeper class of Sampoorna Kranti was/is making more revenue than these flopster VBs.

Regarding poverty, I've made up my mind towards it because India IS poor and especially my region.

Do you really think 2 Sleeper classes in trains like Lichchavi and Bundelkhand makes any sense? These trains serve Bundelkhand/Purvanchal/Bhojpuri regions primarily.

When it comes to VBs, you can go check out my previous posts about hit VBs. I've collected their datas and posted it here on this site only. So it's very clear that I'm not any anti-VB or anti-AC class type of an individual. I just want to see rationality.

/blog/post/5705359

This is one of my post about hit VB, I've made many other posts about good-occupancy VBs like BSB, CBE and even Rajdhanis like CR Rajdhani

When people have criticized me, I've given them another logical counterpoint and I don't believe in having any kind of gratification by just having few compliments by some random strangers on a site

Regarding personal attacks, I'm not that kind of person who indulges in those immature conversations, unless it might be needed? You know.

No hate but i think our current railway minister has not done great work for indian railways, day by day the difference between high standard VIP trains and normal trains is increasing too much, like Vande Bharat is obviously a great sign of progress but reducing sleepers etc isnt something that should be done right now

Taxes shouldn't be imposed on low earner groups like 300,000 or below. Rather rich and ultra rich should be taxed even more, like China (PRC) or the UK with a taxation rate of 45% for high earning groups.

The poor is already paying taxes inform of GST and indirect tax system.

Suppose
...

one person earns 1,000 per day and another earns 10,000.
Both have to buy something that costs 500 Rupees but has a GST of 100 Rupees. The one who earns only 1,000 is paying 10% of their income in form of GST tax but for the 10,000 Rupees earner - it's just 1%.

Progressive taxation is for a reason, which is to decrease the rampant inequality over the world.

Personally speaking, in my socialist mind the fact that a toddler has to travel in crowded general coach and another toddler gets to travel in 1AC, just because they were born in a different family with different class standing.

I see this as no different than racism/casteism, where a person of one race is put above another - solely because they were born in a "superior race".

I'm not talking about entrepreneurs or small businesses. They should be rather supported and provided with benefits.

I'm talking about the elite class of India, who make couple of Lakhs to Crores per month.

Taxing
...

them heavily and providing subsidies (including in railways) and free education/healthcare for everyone is the only ideal situation, we're supposed to have.

If anyone is telling me, a person who makes
100,000 Dollars and after taxation, when they get 60,000 Dollars - that isn't enough in a country where an average person is making 2,500 Dollars?

Not to mention a large part of elites have made money unfairly, with the exploitation of low wage labours.

People here are talking as if, NR didn't extend the trains of BSB in the past.

Ganga Kaveri, Tapti Ganga, Manikarnika (DNR-SC) and many other prominent trains were extended from BSB to stations of Bihar or NER (CPR).
