I'm from Rewa (for those who would call me an outsider).
As expected, no fully air-conditioned train within Madhya Pradesh would ever be successful.
Even during Diwali, it's barely getting filled.
Other times, on average it has more than 35 seats available in executive class and 350-400 seats available in chair car.
People in Madhya Pradesh are extremely stingy, they don't like paying premium fare for daytime service, they'd rather travel cheap overnight or in sleeper coaches. Even my extended family, who have enough money, travel in sleeper coaches of Rewanchal Express while I travel in AC 2 Tier of the same train.
It was a bad decision. It would have made much more sense to run a service between Jabalpur and Varanasi. This is painful to see, all because of the ego of WCR Jabalpur Division.
I know seats normally get filled last minute or on the spot in Madhya Pradesh, but even for that, there's a limit.
Give it to Bhopal, let them run services to Ahmedabad, Surat, Lucknow, or wherever possible. This is a waste of resources, I'm not even sure about the summer season.

Madhya Pradesh ke log bahut kharchi karne wale kanjus hai, din ke samay premium kiraya dene ka unka kaam nahi hai, woh raat bhar sasti ya sleeper mein hi safar karna pasand karenge. Meri badi faujdar family Rewanchal Express ke sleeper coach mein safar karti hai jabki main wahi train ki AC 2 tier mein safar karta hun.
Yeh ek buri faisla tha. Jabalpur aur Varanasi ke beech ek service chalana bahut zyada matlab banata. WCR Jabalpur division ki ego ki wajah se yeh takleefdeh hai.
Main janta hun seat normally akhir mein ya poore spot par bhar jati hain Madhya Pradesh mein lekin uske bhi koi had hoti hai.
Use Bhopal ko de do, unhe Ahmedabad, Surat, Lucknow ya jahan bhi ho sakti hai, service chalani chahiye. Yeh ek resource ki barbadi hai, summer season ke liye bhi mujhe poora vishwas nahi hai.

I just tried this train, 20911 from Indore (INDB) to Bhopal (BPL) on September 7th, 2023. The train was pretty empty, only about 100 passengers in total. For food, I ordered the veg option and got some coffee, Good Day biscuits, aloo sabji (potato curry), paratha (Indian bread), curd, upma (savory semolina dish), and Lotte Choco Pie for breakfast. The train left INDB on time at 6:30 and arrived at UJN 8 minutes late at 7:22. Then, it reached Bhopal 12 minutes early at 9:23 AM, covering a distance of 246 km in 2 hours and 53 minutes at an average speed of 85 km/h. The UJN-BPL leg took 2 hours and 1 minute at an average speed of 91 km/h. I had a great chat with the head TTE and the catering head of 20911. They gave me some information about the future of this train.

The useless train that runs every week has been extended to Gwalior. We already have connections to Mathura, Agra, Kanpur. There isn't much demand for Farrukhabad and Kasganj. Gwalior has some important demands that need to be met for a long time. These include an intercity train from Gwalior to Lucknow via Etawah, a daily intercity train from Gwalior to Indore to clear the rush, and an intercity train from Gwalior to Bhopal via Jhansi.

Haftewar bekaar train Gwalior tak extend ho gayi hai... Humne toh pehle se hi Mathura, Agra, Kanpur se connect kar liya hai. Farrukhabad aur Kasganj ki badi maang nahi hai....
