A Short Tale of a Station Master with a very helpful nature....
It was the afternoon of 6th Oct 2015, my two uncles and aunt were to travel to NDLS by none other then 12397- Mahabodhi Exp [ /pnr/post/1504427] .
As they reached the station by 1:30 PM they came to know that their train is scheduled to depart late by 2 hrs. After waiting for approx 2.5 hrs at around 4 PM comes the NDLS-Puri 12802 Purushottam Exp (late around 2.30 hrs)...Since all senior citizens and not having much idea about trains...
more... one of my uncles boarded the train thinking it to be mahabodhi exp and seeing New Delhi written on the train...by the time other two could understand that it is not their train the train whistled and departed after taking a very brief halt...with one of my uncles on board the wrong train, not having the idea that he has boarded the wrong train he din't even pull the chain to stop the train...my other uncle who was at the platform immediately informed the station master of GAYA abt the incident...by that time their train mahabodhi also arrived at the platform (PNR link shared) but they had to miss the train as my elder uncle had already departed GAYA in Purushottam Exp...Now station master immediately informed the guard of purshottam that a senior citizen has by mistakely boarded the train.....the guard informed the TTE and he was made to deboard at the very next station....the staff at next station also took care of him untill the next train arrived for GAYA...they were of so caring nature that when the next train arrived for gaya they sent a RPF personnel along with my uncle till gaya....now by the time they already had missed mahabodhi to NDLS...they requested the Station master to arrange for any alternate to travel to NDLS....without taking any long he immediately arranged 3 2A seats in 12301 HWH NDLS Rajdhani which was arriving Gaya...by the time Rajdhani arrived he took an excellent care of all the three arranged for snacks and also provided them dinner, not only this as the train was arriving he took them to the platform made them comfortably sit in the train and then he left...
Got to know this last night so thought of sharing it here....
A Big Salute to the Helping Nature of the staff and especially SM of GAYA Jn....
