You don't understand, other countries speed up their trains. Meanwhile, IR slows down it's trains. It's a feature, not a bug! Look at Deccan Queen for example, it was faster when it was introduced in the 1930s than it is now. Says a lot about IR when British era trains were faster than current gen.

I agree with your point at an overall level. Even Coro, Geetanjali have been slowed down drastically from the time they were introduced. DQ my friend is a slightly different case. A lot of the slowdown with DQ has to do with increase in number of coaches. 12001/12002 kwas given meaningless slacks from 2012-2016. This in turn led to a flurry of new halts proposed some of which make zero sense
