Don't combine zones , zones were bifurcated to have better overwatch and control over work which was absent before the re-organisation of 1997 , I suggest even bifurcating NR and SR , these two are quite big , good view on giving Lucknow NR to NER , solves hassle at Lucknow and Varanasi.

I have travelled in both 12952 and 12954 few times and H1 of old coaches had great seats , they had blue cover seats unlike the leather like used in normal first AC , those are way better.I hope PCME/WR ensures those are maintained.

Stone pelting is not common on KOTA route but on NCR routes in UP , every train gets bombarded with stones.

No , private players have to get train sets which have been approved by RDSO , and getting new train sets approved will take long time , so they will take rolling stock on lease from IR.
Although except IRCTC ( which is a govt undertaking under IR) no one has shown interest in running trains.

They have floated it twice and no one had bid , then IRCTC was roped in , its tough to get high profits on railway and its capital intensive.
