... arrives in Mysuru with a slight delay of 45 mins. Also, it's the first-ever visit of the newly repainted 'Namma Karunadu' WDP-4B locomotive.

The 'Namma Karunadu' livery is a salute to the rich and cultural heritage of Karnataka State (also my home state).

This newly repainted EMD locomotive was inaugurated on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of the FIRST High Horsepower (HHP) Diesel Loco Shed of India, the Hubballi (UBL) loco shed.

The loco looks fresh and brand new with the new livery !!

It is a proud feeling to see our 'Kannada Language' been used in the livery.

BACKGROUND STORY:
Yesterday (4th May 2023) late night suddenly we got the surprise news from Hubbali based RFs and officials. Henceforth, this spotting was possible. A big thanks to Hubballi Railway Station officials and Railfans out there.

After Golgumbaz Express got back it's end to end diesel link. I had a desire to spot it with a diesel locomotive that too a WDP-4 or WDP-4B from UBL. Finally , it is now accomplished with a new surprise livery !!!

... then departs from AP, bound to Nanjangud Town (NTW) and Chamarajanagar (CMNR).

The train while departing ... suddenly slowed down to zero in front of me, I thought whether is it the case of chain-pulling, eventually the loco gave a long honk and accelerated beautifully, and departed out of AP.

I was lucky enough to spot the Police Bus 4D after quite a long time. I remember it spotting for the first time back in March 2022. It was then newly repainted to Police Bus livery and had another WDP-4D loco trailing as an emergency, as it was under testing.

So, 1 year of Krishnarajapuram's Police Bus livery WDP-4D locos then !!!

Mysuru (MYS) -- Kacheguda (KCG) Express [ S.C.R ]

... at Mysuru Junction (MYS). Getting ready for a return trip back to Kacheguda. Standing at PF-1 of Mysuru Junction.

Background Story: I really never thought of spotting Guntakal ALCos with Kacheguda Express again after the spotting I did on March 9th (see my previous Blogs). Eventually, I had to go to my college to collect my degree certificate, henceforth on the way, another chance to spot them was possible.

This particular one was more memorable since I caught them smoking out of Mysuru Junction outers (shared some pics). Though my phone couldn't really capture them far. But it was really a treat to watch !!

As of April 2023, some of the trains have been given electric locomotives on the Kurnool - Gadwal - Kacheguda sectors, as per the SCR bulletin. But there are no announcements of electric traction being provided for this train. But still, anytime soon the electric links could come. Particularly WAG series locomotives rather than WAP series ones.

Special Train

... arrives at Ashokapuram (AP) Railway Station in South Mysuru. Then, waits for its clearance to depart further ahead toward Mysuru.

It was a delight to spot a repainted clean machine (a.k.a WDP-4D #40362) with the train. Also, the great advantage of this successful spotting is a long halt of this train at AP for 15-20 mins due to delayed signal clearance.

I had already observed the loco link of the same train from my home when it went to Nanjangud as Train 06300. Henceforth, it was easy to plan and spot it.

Also, I will be sharing the photos of the new modified Train Board (TB). Yes, it shares RSA with Dharwad Express (17301/17302) and Basava Express (17307/17308). Here's the complete updated RSA chain:

Mysuru (MYS) -- Kacheguda (KCG) Express [ S.C.R ]

... at Mysuru Junction (MYS). Ready for a long return journey. Standing at PF-1 of MYS.

Background Story: For the past 5-6 days, KCG-MYS has been getting end-to-end Diesel ALCos from GTL. Before that, Electric Locos from KJM/RPM sheds were used to haul between MYS and K.S.R Bengaluru (SBC) and GTL ALCos between SBC and GTL. This surprising end-to-end ALCo link was indeed happiness for all Mysuru-based railfans.

But anytime soon, the electrification works near Kurnool might be completed, and soon this train would get end-to-end electric links. Due to that fear, I made up my mind to spot it and finally I did it !!

Since 2023, I had limited my trainspotting and RF due to personal responsibilities. When this news came up, I really felt like spotting it and henceforth did it !!
