SHIVABHAKTHAN 17 blog postsIf you are travelling in this train to Kannur , get down at MAJN and take bus to Central station never get an auto ..for a 10km travel they charge you 200 /- or else need the bargain power , if you get out of the station and an half km walk you can reach the main road and from there you will get buses to central station and fare is Rs 5/- most of the buses will go through the station.
Local buses can be seen during arrival of trains just outside PF 1 on left side of the parking, which gets full soon. check with tea stall boys or coolies.

Planning for a visit to JOG FALLS,then follow these couple of guidlines
1.Alight at SRF/Sagara Jambagaru.Bcz Sagar(locally called) has good restaurents &transport facilities(no second thought jus get down here)to Joga(jog falls).
2.Private transport:Jus outside the station you will have cabs ready.hire a cab for UP/Down ride(I haven't seen any private buses,visited 10-7-2016)
Public transport:Sagar bus stand is jus 400m away. limited...

You can find Ksrtc Buses just outside the main exit, these buses halt for 5 minutes for train passengers, takes about 45 minutes including a 10 minutes tea break. no need to walk 400 meters, all buses pass Jog falls main gate, there are many sharing mini buses too

When you reach Jog falls main gate, you should check with security guards info about return transport, that's what we did.

promethsuresh^~ 3554 blog postsNo pantry car on this train so if you want to have Good dinner is available on board an authorised vendor will come and take orders and supply you with food according to the vendor u get chappati kurma,pulao/biryani,idli vada is available.If u want to have breakfast at Mangalore Central it is a request do not buy food from platform vendors as they provide spoiled food.Mostly the train arrives on platform 3 or platform 2.Just climb the overhead bridge go to platform 1 and there will be an IRCTC hotel where u get superb Poori Sagu and good Masala Dosa(don't worry about train leaving MAQ the train has halt of 40 minutes).If u want lunch at Karwar veg and non veg meals are available even delicious fish is available.
Now you can use lift (Near new Bridge) from pf 1 & Pf 2/3 to go up & down at Mangalore Central

Kiran SMuragodnavar~ 97 blog postsDon't waste your money for booking in 2S travel between Mao to Maq or Maq to Mao.Better to take unreserved ticket because no chart at 2S coach and all unreserved passengers board it and just it seems like an unreserved passenger train.Don't know much about CC coach but no tte found and there were more people than its capacity.
This train is a waste, never reaches its destination on time either way, its always late by an hour after karwar & after suratkhal in both direction.
Pity, Runs almost empty. Most passengers are taken by the passenger train.
