Was @ CBE junction by 12:30 PM announcement was made that 12678 would arrive on platform-3, ED P4 #22508 pulled into platform-3 with 15 min late running intercity to SBC from ERS. Boarded D6, the coach was almost full. It was ripping action from CBE all the way to ED, maintaining the same delay. Had lunch at ED while the loco was changed, so did not notice the road number except I confirmed it to be DP 4D. Departed from ED and the LP slowly started to accelerate, cauvery was crossed at 90, then all together the train slowed down and was running at 30-40 kmph, coming to a full halt at Anangur. We were waiting there for about 15 mins, when suddenly a WDG-4 from ED crossed us and stopped near the signal were the guard of our train boarded the loco, on enquiry it was confirmed that our loco had failed. After 15 mins the rescue loco was attached to the dead DP 4D. The total delay was about 15+55 mins at Anangur (70 mins). But after that the train maintained the same delay upto BYPL, where it was looped. We got down there and got a connecting metro.
I feel these days both the UP/Down Intercities are heavily trolled or there is some problem which the authorities have to look into.

Thank you.
