1. Alight here for nainital instead of kathgodam, UK transport buses starts from here to Nainital, You would find it easy to get seat from here.
2. For Nainital, State govt buses avaibale in nearly every 30 mins. Private taxi also available on both sharing basis and booking.

I think you bought from some random vendor, they sale local brands which are poor in quality and unsafe to drink.
Once I was traveling in 12327 from BE to DDN, As the train having pantry/catering have dedicated caterers and station vendors are not allowed to sell inside the train and also the train caterers not allowed to sell outside the train. One of the catering guy tried selling AMUL MILK on station and one policeman saw it. He immediately confronted him. The pantry manager came and gave 100RS to policeman to settle the matter.
