Ratlam: - For the first time 12 years after the diamond crossing ended in Ratlam Rail Division of Western Railway, the Y-shaped railway track has been built. The construction of this Y-shaped bypass track will reduce the distance from Ratlam to Ujjain and travel time. Apart from this, the process of changing the engine in Fatehabad will also be liberated. It is known that the railway has built a new track 3.5 km long between Osra & Lekoda stations for bypassing Fatehabad-Chandrawatiganj . This will benefit trains going from Ratlam to Ujjain directly through the bypass instead of stopping at Fatehabad-Chandrawatiganj station. This will save 20 to 45 minutes of changing the engine. This will reduce the distance between Ratlam and...

Which will be reduced to only 89 kilometers and take will take 1 hrs 15 mins to 1 hrs 30 mins. This will lead to express trains going from Chittaurgarh via Nimach & Ratlam to Ujjain (whose routes do not include Fatehabad Chandrawatiganj) avail the bypass track. At Ratlam, a new track will be made having one end at Delhi - Mumbai line joining Indore-Ratlam track at the other end. This will enable Delhi - Indore trains via Fatehabad Chandrawatiganj to run avoiding reversal at Nagda Junction & going through Ujjain. According to Ratlam Divisional Railway Manager Vineet Gupta, the first one of this Y-Track bypass line has been made in Western Railway & the second one of this Y-Track bypass will be coming up at Ratlam to connect Q-Track with Delhi - Mumbai Line. This will free the Railways from changing the engine, while the passengers will have the benefit that the journey to Ujjain from Ratlam will be completed in a short time.
