They pointed out that KRCL has not upgraded its infrastructure since its inception three decades ago, while Indian Railways has been modernizing rapidly. This has resulted in differential treatment and higher fares for passengers and freight consigners. The MPs also requested the extension of the Mangaluru-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express to Mumbai, the introduction of a Vande Sadharan Express on the route, and a feasibility study for a new double line between Subrahmanya Road and Sakleshpur.
