It has been close to 4 months since inauguration of Nasipur Bridge by PM Himself, yet NOT A SINGLE PASSENGER TRAIN has been run along this bridge, connecting Murshidabad Jn (MBB) to Azimganj Jn. (AZ). This has been a long long pending (decades old) demand of Murshidabad District passengers/commuters - to connect both parts of the district separated by Ganga/Bhagirathi river, but both SDAH and HWH Divs of ER or RB are least bothered about the pain and troubles of the passengers here.

00691 IAF Gaganshakti Special from Chennai to Guwahati powered by LGD WAG9 31152 arrived on Barrackpore PF1. Indian Airforce officers were present to receive the personnel.

This is also the First revenue generating coaching train to run through newly commissioned Murshidabad - Azimganj section. Previously only Railway Administrative trains & goods trains were run on the above section.

Although passenger train services have not yet started, goods trains pass through the Nashipur Bridge almost every day. It is expected that after running goods trains like this for several days, passenger trains will also start running.
