Dimapur-Tizit rail line approved, survey for new rail line between Furkating-Baghty Valley completed
Construction of 82.50-km new broad gauge railway line from Dimapur to Kohima (Zubza) was going on in full swing and was expected to be ready by March 2026, while sanction had been granted to the proposed Dimapur-Tizit railway line.Further, survey for a new line between Furkating-Baghty Valley (24.10 km in Nagaland and 23.30 km in Assam) has also been completed.Mentioning this, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) chief public relations officer (CPRO) Sabyasachi De in a press release said the new railway line would bring Nagaland’s capital city on the broad-gauge railway map of the country.He mentioned that the new railway line project was being executed at an anticipated cost of

North East Frontier Railway (NFR) on Tuesday afternoon carried out its first trial run of the train engine along the Dhansiri-Shukovi (Dimapur-Zubza) railway track.
The train engine arrived from Dhansiri railway station, Assam to Dhansiripar railway station at around 3 p.m. In a tweet, PHE minister Jacob Zhimomi welcomed the development, saying “The first train arrived in Dhansiripar railway station from Dhansiri, Assam (February 16, 2021) at 3p.m. Dimapur district. Welcome to Nagaland!.”
