True. I travel every week in this train. to KGLE. It should have reached MLDT within 4:20 pm and depart at 4:30 pm. Again in AZ it nomally reach at 7:00 pm. No need to give it 5 minutes halt. 3-4 minutes is enough. depart by 7:05 and reach KGLE at 7:20 esily

This train was like the mornings first preferred train for MBB district passengers to reach Malda for official and travelling purpose.
Could have served Siliguri as well, any thoughts?

Agree with your points but a BDC extension would be be better imo.
BDC provides better connectivity to HWH/SDAH etc.
Another option that can be tried out is increasing the EMU local frequency between KWAE and BWN.

I honestly expect EMU from SDAH side to rule that route in future. MEMU from MLDT at different timings would also not seem bad
