Vijayawada Railway Division is expanding big time, man. In the coming days, the Golden Quadrilateral line will be passing through. In order to develop four lines (quadrupling) on the crucial Vijayawada-Gudur and Vijayawada-Duvvada sections in the Vijayawada division, the railway has decided to upgrade the tracks. The Railway has decided to undertake the Final Location Survey (FLS) for the war-prone railway area. Vijayawada Railway Division is achieving record revenue compared to all railway zones in the country. Under this consideration, the Railway Board has not allocated funds to bear the expenses of railway line-related developments in this division. In this sequence, eyebrows are being raised towards expanding the Golden Quadrilateral line. Vijayawada-Gudur and Vijayawada-Duvvada sections are the most important in Vijayawada Railway Division. The Gudur and Duvvada sections are crucial for connectivity to Nellore District from Vijayawada, and to Visakhapatnam District from Vijayawada, respectively. There are many ongoing and upcoming projects on this route. Officials are considering setting up four lines in these sections. Railway Board has also received favorable signals. Trains are currently operating on the Vijayawada-Gudur and Vijayawada-Duvvada sections. The operations are bound to be completed sooner. The connectivity between Gudur and Chunduru, where this track is tripled, has been completed. Beyond this, the functions have arrived at the junction. 30 kilometers of the Krishna Canal Junction segment have made substantial progress. In view of these opportunities, officials are considering setting up four lines in these sections. Currently, only doubling is happening between Vijayawada and Duvvada. Vijayawada-Vishakhapatnam section is the main section for setting up four lines. Given the high demand for services on this route, railway authorities are keen on setting up both triple and quadruple lines in these sections soon. The said authorities are contemplating setting up four lines along with the existing three lines. The final location survey is currently being conducted by the railway. The BJP government came into power twice in 2019 and announced the zone. But, it hasn't been implemented yet. As soon as South Coast Railway Zone's name was given, the neglect towards the zone's formation has been on the rise. Dissatisfaction is brewing among the people of North Andhra. The cancellation of Waltair division and the allocation of South Coast Railway Zone has not gone down well. How much love the people of North Andhra have for the South Coast Railway Zone is the real question here. The announcement is creating a controversy... In 2019, the BJP government at the center announced the formation of the Vizag Railway Zone and created a controversy. After that, in the Lok Sabha elections, the zone came into power twice. The BJP two-term government is nearing completion but the zone's operation is still standing at a halt. The neglect towards the functioning of the zone is evident everywhere. Trains that were increasing until now are stalled, platforms are not expanding which is leading to trains diverting to reach other destinations, worsening the situation. Trains are moving away from Visakhapatnam railway station as platforms are not sufficient which is creating a situation where passengers have to wait for almost 20 minutes before trains leave. This is creating chaos at the station. Many trains are now starting from Duvvada station and not Visakhapatnam. More trains are now originating from Duvvada station. With Duvvada railway station being 25 kilometers away from Visakhapatnam railway station, passengers are facing inconvenience while traveling to catch trains. The situation has become like a disaster... With the aspirations of the people of North Andhra in mind, the Central and State governments are playing. The center government announced the Zone later the state government had to follow. They are dragging behind the planned offices of the zone for the state government... Until now, nothing has been finalized even after we revealed it. "The state has no purity in giving the center clarity. The state government speaks about giving solutions in land allocation issues. But the center is playing a trick without revealing the location. 'There is no clarity on the establishment of the Vizag Railway Zone for the Center and State governments. The situation has reached a stage of confusion on the matter of land allocation, " said CPI State Secretary Jeevi Satyanarayana Murthy. ‘This is not the first time the railway zone is facing delays. This is just a small part of the struggle of the people of North Andhra for nearly four decades. Public representatives accuse the Center government of playing tricks when asked desperately... So, the people of North Andhra are questioning the government in the elections. In the direction of the Election... The South Coast Railway Zone as the center, state governments are left behind. In the elections, the Southern Railway Zone has been the focus for the past 40 years.
