Horror Story of having same name for two trains:
I was in Mangalore Madgaon Passenger which was halted in the ourskirts of Madgaon. Another train comes and halts near us. After 10 min, that train leaves towards Madgaon showing its name "Poorna Express". Then a passenger asked me is there any train to go to Mumbai after reaching Madgaon. I told you would have caught Poorna to go to Panvel and go to Mumbai. He was very upset, that I have not told this when the train was at halt.
Meanwhile another train...
more... comes and halts and it is Kulem-Vosco Passenger. My "friend" was in two mind whether our or Vosco will get the priority to enter Madgaon. I told him Mangalore passenger is least priority as it occupies platform while Vasco will move on. But he stayed back. Alas, immediately Vasco moved along.
After another 10 to 15 minutes, our train moved in Madgaon PF 3 and we could see emptied Mumbai Madgaon Express going to siding from PF 1 and another halting in PF 2. Close by we could see PF2 train is Poorna express. I signaled him about Poorna express. Last time I saw, he was rushing through crowd to catch Poorna Express.
To my horror, while I was navigating through the nowhere-seen-narrow FOB, Poorna started towards Mangalore. Then I realize this is the train going through Miraj. I don't know "my friend" has boarded or not and also how many abuses he gave to me.
At least to my delight, the announcement came in "Madgaon Dadar Jan Shatabdi is delayed by 20 minutes".
So whose fault is this?
1. Indian Railways having same name for two different route trains.
2. Me, guiding a fellow passenger knowing only half of truth based on No 1's fault
3. Fellow passenger, who risked ticket-less traveling without knowing anything about trains solely believing No 2 thats me.
