the Union Cabinet clearing 100 per cent electrification of all the broad-gauge (BG) routes of the Indian Railways by 2021-22, the national transporter is working on a master plan to convert its entire fleet of about 5,500 diesel locomotives into electric ones at less than half the cost of refurbishment of diesel engines.
"The Railways has now developed an indigenous technology to convert our diesel locomotives to electric ones now they introduced 2 invention or restoration named as WAG11 and WAGC3
WAGC3 locomotive was been modified from a diesel locomotive (WDG3A) manufactured
...
by ALco and is been converted to an electric locomotive by the use of pure Indian Technology under the Make in India initiative. It is been successfully tested locomotive that works on the electric traction of 25 kV 50 Hz AC.
This locomotive is been confused to be a dual mode (that can work on both electric and diesel traction) locomotive but that is not true. According to the statement by the Ministry of Railways, it is a pure electric locomotive and also the name suggests the same. It is a twin electric freight locomotive consisting of two locomotives having output power rating of 5,000 hp making it a resultant locomotive having 10,000 hp power.
This same process for WAG11 they change the old WDG4 into WAP 7 shell both of them consists more HP power to handling freight trains this are in Alstom model engines made in India this are new tested locomotives for IR from this two invention which one is more attractive by you

Yes, Possible. There are lots of images you can check online. We don't want 100% electrification too but electrification is necessary in dense routes to save the cost of fuel. Delhi to Guwahati, Chennai,Bangalore,Hyderabad to Mumbai,Delhi to Ahmedabad is necessary.Even in states like Karnataka,Rajasthan,Gujarat,UP most areas are diesel so electrifying them is necessary.

See I can't say on what basis 100% electrification is decided. I live in TN and their were many routes before NDA came to power which were diesel. After Suresh Prabhu came and he decided to electrify the routes then immediately the tenders were passed for electrification of Erode-Karur-Trichy and Salem-Karur-Dindigul via Namakkal. Second was Trichy-Karaikal. 2 are being done by RVNL and that too at good speed Villupuram -Trichy MainLine . Banagalore-Omalur. Now still many lines are there in TN like Sengottai, Pollachi, Palani,Rameswaram. If they want to go for 100% electrification then they should be electrifying them also. Plus there are many lines in North East like Agartala, Silchar. Who knows what does 100% means. We would only be knowing when next budget comes.

This could be the main reason that learning from past mistakes they did not build WAG 12 by themselves, but setup the Alstom unit in India and they are working for freight corridor.

This government is always ready for new things. During this NDA government only we are seeing doubling of Ahmedabad- Ajmer and Gulbarga-Bhigwan doubling being speeded up. Before NDA they never thought of doubling, electrification, gauge conversion . After 10 years finally they have done a trial on Takkolam-Arakkonam section on 12-10-2018. Now only Electrification is left. Look at NFR the electrification have entered there for the first time in history in several years. If NDA stays for another 10 years face of Indian Railways can change..

Kerala Express is majboori for peoples of Coimbatore and Tiruppur. People of Kerala enjoys many good trains to Delhi like Sampark kranti, Rajdhani, Duronto, Amritsar Exp,Dehradun and so on. Anyways flight from Coimbatore to Delhi is cheaper than train if one who is travelling in AC 2 tier. Cost of Jet Airways is only 3800 and Spicejet is also same and both being non stop. But idiot Jet Airways is now starting to charge for meal. AiR India is better in this case
