sir very good question........
actually ser has many conventional locos like wam-4, wap-4, wag-5 & wag-7 in their tatanagar, bndm & src loco shed. till date we have seen that src electric loco shed only owns & holds wap-4 locos & for not having skilled lp's & technicians in src , this loco shed do not get any allotment of wap-7 locomotives from clw till aug-sep 2017.
it is a true fact that ser don't have any skilled lp or technician to drive or maintain wap-7 locos in their src els. infrastructural problem...
more... is another issue for which src do not get any wap-7 locos till 2016.
apart from this being a resident of howrah i personally asked many lps & shed personel that when src will be given wap-7 many times in 2014,2015 & 2016. in all these occassions i got one common answer either from lp or from technicians "src is a small shed but very soon we will get wap-7 our lp's are being trained to drive that loco & we are thinking about eradicating the infrastructural problem in src for homing wap-7s as wap-7 is the future of ser as well as ir which you can't deny" they also added "if we handle wag-9 of tata then very shortly you will see p-7 in src". ser personnel have tremendous self confidence seen in their replies as if they will bring p-7 in ser ......
apart from this i have many railfan friends who wrote many posts & blogs in fb & here demanding strongly for p-7 in src. many of them tweeted to senior personnel of ser demanding strongly for p-7 in src. finally now we got the result which brings smiles in the face of all ser railfans
that src now get wap-7 many of which firstly allotted to gmo then transferred to src , some were allotted to tata firstly then transferred to src & 30614 ,30609 are the two locos allotted to src by the railway board & another good news that a new shed is constructed in src for homing these wap-7.....
so i made that quote sir
