There is no seperate Dinhata MP. Dinhata falls under Cooch Behar LS constituency. Anyways demand for extension of this train was much older, even before BJP.came into power in Cooch Behar. In 2016, it was extended to Dinhata but due to lack of terminal facility and small platform, it was not extended permanently. At that time only, it was told by DRM that after Bamanhat gets proper platform, it will be extended to Bamanhat and now that has been done

It is said to be so called because the eye ball (tara) of Sati fell here. Others say that Tarapith is not a pith but the place owes its sanctity to the fact that the Sage Basistha here worshipped the Goddes Sati in the form of Tara. The Kamakhya Temple in western part of Guwahati city in Assam is also one of the oldest of the Shakti Peethams. The panda provided a wrong info I guess. There are 6 shaktipiths in Bengal and Tarapith is indeed one of them. The other 5 are Konkalitala (near Bolpur), Nandikeshwari (Sainthia), Nalateshwari (Nalhati), Kiriteshwari (near Murshidabad) and Kalighat (Kolkata). You can visit any govt website or any tourism website to verify this. As per Indian mythology, the Tara of Sati (in Bengali what we call chokher Tara) fell at Tarapith and hence it got it's name as "Tara"pith

Should be extended but Bwn Mldt pass is there in the morning. ER can extend both 12373/74 and 13013/14 from Rph to Raiganj or Radhikapur and continue the RSA with some modifications in the days of run of the trains
