This system uses a third rail placed parallel to the tracks instead of Overhead Electrical (OHE) lines, powered by 750 volts DC current. This eliminates the risk of OHE tripping caused by kite strings, as seen with the OHE system. The Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited, Sushil Kumar, highlighted this as a major achievement. Once the track construction on both lines is finished, the route from IIT to Nayaganj will be ready for metro trains.
