the most significant increase with a 295% rise in passengers traveling in reserved coaches with unreserved tickets. The Chennai division saw a 70% increase. Despite the demand, the railways are facing difficulties in operating additional trains due to crew shortages. Passengers' representatives have suggested adding Antyodaya or MEMU Express trains on short routes like Chennai-Tiruchy, Chennai-Salem, and Salem-Coimbatore, as well as to northern and northeastern states. However, officials say that any decisions on new trains need to be made by the railway board. The railways are also considering increasing unreserved coaches and revising their composition based on demand.

Demand ke baavajood, railways ko crew ki kami ki wajah se additional trains chalane mein dikkat ho rahi hai. Passengers ke representatives ne Chennai-Tiruchy, Chennai-Salem, aur Salem-Coimbatore jaise short routes par aur northern and northeastern states tak Antyodaya ya MEMU Express trains chalane ka suggestion diya hai. Lekin officials kehte hain ki new trains chalane ke baare mein koi bhi decision railway board ko karna hoga. Railways unreserved coaches bhi badhaane aur demand ke basis pe unka composition revise karne pe bhi vichar kar rahi hai.
