Lucknow arrival time bhi weird hai. Patliputra se thoda late depart karwaye to 5 am tak Lucknow arrival possible hai.

This train only has 4 sleeping carriages [rest are chair cars or 2S or General] only, so making it an overnight journey would render the current coach composition infeasible. To make things complex, this thing has a RSA with Lucknow[Aishbagh]-Gorakhpur ICE which doesn't have this weird of timings. So, it's coach composition won't be changed most likely which makes proper night journey tough.

It would have been a SF when it was introduced, that's why the charges are still being levied, I think. Check 12531/2 , LJN-GKP ICE, that has an average speed even lower at ~49 kph but has SF surcharge. But when it was introduced, it was ~30 minutes faster than current day and it's avg back then did come out to be 55 kph.

Biggest problem is the gauge. India uses 5 ft 6 inch broad gauge while whole world uses 4 ft 8.5 inch standard gauge.

Yeah London-Howrah Poorva Express, Rome-Katra Himsagar Express....the possibilities are endless :)

On a more serious note, the whole world uses a different gauge, so gauge conversion is required.

yes Gauge is a big issue, europe uses standard gauge, russia uses its own russian guage, spain and ireland use their own iberian gauge,
but lets forget it for once, kaun sa bada asli me train chalne hi wali hai

Bad fact. From Munabao to Tuftan, the stretch is in enemy land Pakistan.
Apart from Pakistan, Talibanic Afghanistan & China, all Asian countries are having good relations with India.

Gauges:- India-Pakistan-Iran all have 1676 mm tracks. Europe has 1520mm & 1435 mm tracks. Iran converting theirs into 1435 mm for HSR
