The DFCCIL site says about Eastern DFC .
"Due to non - availability of space along the existing corridor particularly near important city centers and industrial townships, the alignment of the corridor takes a detour to bypass densely populated towns such as Mughalsarai, Allahabad, Kanpur, Etawah, Ferozabad, Tundla, Barhan, Hathras, Aligarh, Hapur, Meerut, Saharanpur, Ambala, Rajpura, Sirhind, Doraha and Sanehwal. Since the origin and destinations of traffic do not necessarily fall on the DFC, a number of junction arrangements have been planned to transfer traffic from the existing Indian Railway Corridor to the DFC and vice versa. These include Dankuni, Andal, Gomoh, Sonnagar, Ganjkhwaja, Mughalsarai, Jeonathpur, Naini/Cheoki, Prempur, Bhaupur, Tundla, Daudkhan, Khurja, Kalanaur, Rajpura, Sirhind and Dhandarikalan. "

Patiala is a huge township, may not be possible to stretch new rail lines through patiala...but what is clear from the article is that DFC is clearly avoiding #Dhanbad & #Gaya two most important transits in GC.

Aoocrding to the mail I received from CPM, DFCCIL, the Rajpura-Patiala-Dhuri-Lehra Mohabat is a feeder route under EDFC. DFC may move its traffic to and fro on IR and its own route. That what I could make out if the above article. Whats your say ?

Not new lines, but DFC shall use the existing IR line as detour. As this route from rajpura -Patiala-Dhuri - connects with Ludhiana. The Rajpura-Patiala-Dhuri-LehraMohabat and Jakhal-Dhuri-Ludhiana are sanctioned electrification projects. THE 11058/58 train already running on this route for the past so many years. Survey had been done in 2013 for doubling of this route from Rajpura to Bathinda via Patiala,Dhuri.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
