ER authorities during the day had another train up their sleeve to book the free-trippers. it was a new train called 'chetna", comprising three emu coaches. on the inaugural run of the special train, nearly 400 ticketless travellers were caught in the short stretch from belgharia to barrackpore. the new train had a device which enables the train to move in both directions, without coming in the way of the busy railway traffic. chetana will supplement the existing ticket checking special, popularly known as 'lal gadi' and will move up and down with ticket examiners and rpf personnel on board.
