in rajdhani express and all, there is oven and all and for such things working, the current cannot be self generated by the compartments. ANd hence the AC, working of ovens, chillers, and lights need electricty which will be obtained by EOG.
In other trains, there is an alternator which is connected to the battery which will be sufficient to produce enough current to the respective coaches

Wont be sufficient to withstand the whole load.. Usually when train reaches stations, you can feel the fans speed reduces and all.. this is mainly due to the power intake starts from the battery.. Whn train is running, the battery gets charged and then will be supplied directly from the alternator..

In normal trains AC compartments the batteries are self generated for producing AC, so it takes few additional batteries in case of AC(like if 4 batteries are used in sleeper,8 batteries should be used in self generated AC compartment) which results in high load and high pulling force as these are linked to dynamo of compartment tyres, which avoids acceleration. thats the reason we find normal express trains wont have more than 7-8 AC coaches.
In case of Rajdhani, duronto where all compartments are AC self generated 18-20 coaches wont work with the required speed. so they use EOG for current generation and the compartments are of light weigh and have minimal batteries which will serve for light, fans and other minimal things

remaining power will be provided by EOG. This makes them run fast and less motive force on engines ,better acceleration and breaking.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
