* Unfortunately, IR is left with no option, but to reduce the no. of employees to reduce its largest expenditure component which is undoubtedly very high by any standard.
* In this regard it has already been reported that IR is surrendering non safety vacant posts, abolishing of the practice of using “sandesh vahak’s” or “messengers” (about 10000 in total) of senior officials, a tradition followed during British era, such practices has become redundant in the era of mobiles, computers and internet. Such redundant practices/ activities etc are a drain on scarce IR resources and need to be identified and eliminated.

more... In order to maintain its financial viability, IR shall be forced to gradually outsource more & more non-core activities to private agencies through contracts. These pvt. cos. shall be expected to accomplish the same task at much lower cost through better management of resources.
