Permanent solution is Mangalore Central and Mangalore Junction should be handed over to SWR as SR running 4-5 Daily trains to Trivandrum/Chennai as no use as much. Mangalore itself need inner connection to Karnataka(currently lacks inner Karnataka connection), and also it is thr nextprofitable city after Bengaluru due to port city of Karnataka. If SWR zone gets Mangalore in future, they can regularise Mangalore Bijapur special, and SWR can run new trains between Mangalore - Belagavi, Mangalore - Bidar via Arisikere, Davanagere, Hubli, Gadag, Bellary, Guntakal, Raichur, Yadgir Wadi Kalaburagi. Mangalore to Mumbai via Non Konkan route (via Calicut, Coimbatore, Salem, Dharmapuri, Bengaluru and then follow Udyan express route) was also beneficial.
