If this route has solid state interlocking then how it allowed a train to proceed on the loop line where a freight was already parked?
It seems to be a case of system failure not some human error.

Yes, everybody has come to their own conclusions since yesterday only.
Actually Coromandal was to pass through mainline only at full speed but due to some corrosion and technical issues the point remained stuck for loopline and hence Coromandal entered loopline at full mps leading to the disaster. In the meantime Yesvantpur express had almost crossed but it's last 3 coaches got caught in the chaos. But the most important point is that GS coach of both train suffered most which are always crowded.

Yes, human error in relay interlocking is quite a possibility but an error of such magnitude in a section having solid state interlocking is near to impossible. Either it's a case of technical failure or some sabotage attempt. The point got stuck or someone made it to get stuck is a matter of investigation.

There are widespread speculation that the system may have been manually over-ridden but the SM was uninformed of the decision. If you ask my opinion, I don't think that is possible as the SM would have gotten an alert if there had been any manual over-ride!
