I went from Pune to Mumbai and let me tell you, VB is not worth it on this route. It takes just as long as Deccan Queen and Pragati but the tickets are expensive and to make it worse, it was 15 minutes late. I was in the Executive Class and the food was not good, the Poori was oily and the poha was dry. They didn't even give corn flakes unless you asked for it. DQ and Pragati have better food. I really don't think VB will do well on this route because DQ, Pragati, and Sinhgad also leave in the morning. Unless you can't get a ticket on those trains, only then should you consider VB but that's unlikely because there are also other long distance trains going to Mumbai in the morning where you can easily get tickets.
