Also, is it possible that the earning of places like NCB, DBRG etc is diluted because of similar stations nearby like APDJ/NOQ for NCB, DBRT/NTSK for DBRG & likewise??

DBRG Rajdhani is a curious case. You can see good occupancy throughout the year, but you cant be sure whether all of those are a result of stations before KOJ! Stations between KIR-DNR get good bookings in these trains & reservations are made starting MXN or NTSK with boarding at these stations.
This is just like the erstwhile BP Mail which on peak seasons used to run full till DGU, but only on paper, while in reality the train used to shed a lot of passengers by Malda. This happens probably because the 3AC & even 2AC tickets are quite comparable with flights from Bagdogra & sometimes even Patna.

The old arrangement of slip coaches between GHY-DBRT was probably useful with these facts and also that GHY to NJP also gave good amount of passengers. Post LHBfication & in recent years stations, stations beyond KIR have been occupying a good share in bookings.
Speeding up of these trains will make them more competitive. However, the very fact that the National Rail Plan has set up a target of 2051 for HSR at Guwahati shows Railway's interest to upgrade speeds in these regions.

I am not denying intermediate bookings. What I am saying is that the picture is not black & white as you can expect. You may see the train running full ex-DBRG or GHY but in reality if you board the train, you may see it running more empty than expected. A better way would be to observe these trains when you come back from New Delhi. If you book your tickets from NDLS upto any NFR region stations like GHY or MXN, chances are that your co-passengers will be all those who have booked tickets upto those stations i.e. passengers of similar stations are put in same coaches. That is how, probably quota system works. However, you will see that the train gets a lot empty by NJP. This means that a lot of passengers who probably booked tickets upto NTSK terminate their journeys before NJP! This is more observable trend...

No doubt, baggage allowance & fare differences has and will keep favoring Rajdhani wherever applicable. Some points to note here are that the quota of intermediate stations are not that high. Hence passengers have to take a risk or book waitlisted tickets from previous stations which increases fare. Also, coming to fare, it would probably increase in future.
The point about speed I mentioned is because Rajdhanis have lost their glory & many including DBRG Raj just get half baked attention. e.g. AGTL Raj, got Tejas rakes, but look at its timings. Railways can think of increasing frequencies, all they want. But they also need to have a hard look on revising timings, speeding up & prioritizing like good old days i.e. 10-15 years ago

On a random day around 5-6 weeks back, I tracked this train & found it standing at Semapur, 1.5 hrs before its scheduled arrival at KIR. 3.5 hrs between KIR and NJP is a weekly sitcom made for controller's entertainment!
It really should be speeded up, but who knows, Tejas rake de diya na. It feels like Railways is indirectly expecting passengers to be happy with on-board facilities because they are not going do much with timings!

I never said that NFR Rajdhanis have lost traffic at an overall level assuming by 'traffic' you mean Revenues and/or bookings. As I mentioned earlier, NFR Rajdhanis are ignored in terms of their speeds & I provided a valid example of the newest Rajdhani that is running. In fact I mentioned "Trains are neglected in terms of timings, and some even in terms of service(look at rakes of 2424)"
Increase in frequency can be due to multitude of reasons both political & financial. But this doesn't mean that this is the best the area can and/or should have.

My argument is against the last two lines that you mentioned. I am saying that be it weekly or daily, you cannot solely attribute the full run of a train to source & it is even in grayer area for NFR Rajdhanis.

I push it because frequency & comfort in trains should go hand in hand with speed. Just because Rajdhani is fastest of the lot doesnt mean that there is no scope of speed up & this is something that is not discussed along side frequency increase and amenities upgrade. And everyone can see its scope in NFR Rajdhanis at least. The idea reasonably stems out from the original blog where a TT was deemed as stupid and inconvenient, something I see in NFR Rajdhanis.
