I want to know how physical rakes are assigned to Mumbai suburban local trains as per the schedules, can I get an idea how on ground level these rakes are managed for the trips(train numbers e.g.98070) is there any software involved which generates the list of rakes to be assigned to trips throughout the day ?

Last few weeks India railways ko buri Nazar lag gayi Hai... Many trains are cancelled .. have a look
1. Previously trains cancelled due to DC line closure . Took 2 months to fully restore
2. Then many trains cancelled due to floods in North East . Still not restored .. Before that there were floods in Gujrat also and many trains were cancelled.

Trains also cancelled due to Utkal and Kaifiat derailment and Violence in Haryana .
4. Trains cancelled due to Nagpur Duronto derailment and heavy Rains in Mumbai
Overall losses of hundreds of crores for Indian railways.
