The following new personalization features have been introduced.
1. Blog Rating, PNR Prediction, collapsing/expanding of blog entries, marking entries as "read", date/time when the blog post is read, date/time when PNR prediction is made - all these aspects have now been made uniform.
In the main forum section, all blog posts now have a pair of Vote/Close buttons. When you click on these, your vote is recorded and the blog post is marked as "read" and collapsed. Members can see their own voting history, also, when they read and voted on a particular...
more... Blog Post. When you click on one of the Close buttons, these Blog Posts are collapsed, and they will stay collapsed on all future visits. At the top right hand corner of each collapsed blog post, you will see when you read the blog post, and how you voted on it. This might make forum browsing easier since now you don't have to re-read the same posts again. Clicking on any collapsed blog post will re-open the blog post.
2. The above logic also holds for PNR predictions. When you make a prediction, the PNR post collapses and on the top right hand corner, you will see what prediction you made and when you made it.
3. New PNR alerts will appear only for actual new PNR posts, and not when someone makes a prediction.
4. PNR prediction summary is available at the top right hand corner of each PNR post. A new PNR Prediction summary table has been introduced which will show a quick list of predictions.
5. Against every new blog post you make, a pen symbol appears at the top right readily identifying members' own posts. Members cannot vote on their own blog posts, and these posts always stay collapsed.
Soon to be introduced:
As you read and collapse individual blog posts, quick summary figures will be listed on the top - how many posts were read today, how many remain to be read. Same for PNRs - how many PNRs were predicted today (or on any date), how many remain to be predicted, and accuracy figures on a day-by-day basis.
All the above features are aimed to personalize the reading/browsing experience of the forum. This feature set will continue to be enhanced in the coming days and weeks.
We understand that these changes are extensive, and have resulted in modifications to the look and feel of the Forum and PNR sections. It might take some time to get used to the new look. Please bear with us. We shall be making further changes based on feedback. Thanks.
