To some extent, yes. But all the trains don't run through polluted areas I suppose.
New TT of Padatik Express to be out soon. Expected TT:-

Previous TT was NOQ 17:40 (sometimes 17:15), NJP 20:45 and SDAH 06:45. I don't see any reason of making such an impossible and aggressive TT in between NOQ-NJP, having NJP departure preceed by 1 hour and having overtaken by Darjeeling Mail.

Agreed, in up direction often Darjeeling mail reached MLDT before time, sometimes even as early as 30 minutes...

Halt was revoked in the year of 1984 because of regular nuisance caused by BWN based daily passengers. 36830/ 36835 (Super) was introduced as a compensation. And to be honest, even after so many years the BWN based DPs are still the same arrogant and rude. Just travel in 36830 on any weekday and you will understand how justified was that halt removal decision. ЁЯШБ
