Already people are preferring flights between metro cities and I highly doubt that bullet train would be a success either.
But one thing is for sure that rake standardisation ke chakkar mein log aur railways kahi ke nahi rahenge i.e no relevant profit and no service to the people

This looks very good while speaking but actually it cannot be done overnight.
It require a lot of investment and infrastructure for smooth connectivity.

Flights are available for big cities only and fare difference between 3rd AC and flight is huge.
Don't worry. RRTS and High speed trains will give you answer after inauguration.

Bullet train will be a success in the future as nhsrcl said that the price will be competitive with flights. Also bullet train involves hassle free travel. No one hour before flight rule.
