In times of accident or disruption sometimes it is best advised to short terminate train services. Train came up till Narsipatnam and then went back all the way to Vijaywada and then diverted via Nagpur.....

Is there any specific protocol or rules that is followed in such cases?

zones keeps handing over to another zone and net result is trains never get back to their original schedule
