Too early a starting time from GTNR. Why couldn't they have started it from LJN instead? The platforms aren't full at this time and that station is way better connected to avail trains at 0510 hrs.

I agree, at this time , it is sandwiched between two trains. But, they can always start it slightly later, trailing both these trains. After all, 0500 hrs is a bit early starting time for any train. Even long distance VBs start usually after 0500 hrs and compared to them, this has to cover a much less distance.

Ek Intercity AYC se Banaras ke beech me chalni chahiye, I think NER ko koi problem nahi hogi, they will agree to it.

What about the Bahraich - BCY ICE? Does it run now or still cancelled?
It has been cancelled a lot in the past year, hasn't it; be it due to any work at AY or fog or any other reason? Seems like it has been cancelled more and runs less.
