On one of those days when I was as usual doorplating in a speeding DD, the skies opened up suddenly for a brief shower and it went back to normal again. After departing a rainwashed Ambur, completing a 2min scheduled halt, we were speeding away towards Katpadi. All the usual crossings were witnessed with their regular links, but what surprised me the most was the appearance of a Green faced WAP1 when we were approaching Gudiyattam. Sure that it was a Sapthagiri liveried WAP1, I started recording, expecting the TVC daily from MAS, but my surprise turned into a shock when i saw EC markings in the first half of the train followed by SE markings in the rear half. It was indeed the 13351/18189 Dhanbad/Tatanagar-Alappuzha express running late by more than 11hrs, departing from Gudiyattam after a scheduled halt.
