One thing that I noticed from this budget and the previous Budgets is that Railways is giving more importance to Freight Traffic.
Especially, the lines falling in Coastal areas..
That's why Despite Guntur - Guntakal Doubling cost which AP government had to share 50% of the cost, now the Center is Funding the entire project. U can see even Guntakal - Hubli is now a Double Electric line.

they have given huge Funds to Vijayawada - Gudiwada - Machilipatnam - Narsapur - Bhimaavaram Doubling from the past 4 years. Even though this line doesn't come under HDN Or HUN. Why because I think they are trying to connect ports with a better rail infrastructure. In such case, AP GOVERNMENT should focus on building MACHILIPATNAM, BAHAVANAPADU ports.. AP GOVERNMENT has expressed its intention of building the ports, but I think no step has been taken so far.
Anyhow now MACHILIPATNAM is now provided with the best Railway infrastructure.Once the port at MACHILIPATNAM is built, MACHILIPATNAM can retain its lost glory. I remember from my history teacher in the school days, that MACHILIPATNAM used to be a very big, important PORT CITY in SOUTH EAST INDIA. But Britishers due to some reasons chose MADRAS over MACHILIPATNAM.
With the building of port, the belt of MACHILIPATNAM - VIJAYAWADA - GUNTUR can be hugely benifitted and can stand out as economic power centers for ANDHRA. Atleast now the Government of ANDHRA PRADESH should stop wasting all the money on freebies and start building necessary infrastructure for the STATE...
