Mumbai Solapur can be covered in less than 7 hours. Solapur Bangalore in 11 hours. Total around 17.5 to 18 hours.
See the pathetic TT of Udyan: Morning 8 departure at Mumbai with 6 AM arrival at Bangalore. Return 2030 departure at SBC CSMT arrival 2000. It can be speeded up by atleast 3 hours in each direction. Bus lobby won't allow. Volvo sleeper bus starts by 1330 1400 and reach YPR by morning 0730!!.
LTT CBE has horrible TT between GTL SBC. It is slower than a passenger train...
more... in DMM SBC Sector. Why because it has to reach CBE at convenient hours. Why can't it start at around 2100 at LTT and arrive SBC by 1500 and reach CBE by 2230? Reason bus lobby.
Both Udyan and LTT CBE are with LHB coaches!! SWR yet to see benefits of double track, electrification, LHB rakes etc.
please wait...Translate to EnglishMumbai to Solapur can be done in under 7 hours and Solapur to Bangalore can be done in 11 hours, so it should take around 17.5 to 18 hours total. The schedule for Udyan Express is terrible with departure at 8 AM from Mumbai and arrival at Bangalore at 6 AM the next day. The return trip is even worse with departure at 8:30 PM from Bangalore and arrival at 8 PM at CST. It could be improved by at least 3 hours in each direction, but the bus lobby won't allow it. The Volvo sleeper bus starts at 1:30-2:00 PM and arrives at YPR at 7:30 AM. The schedule for LTT CBE is also horrible with a slower time than a passenger train in the DMM SBC sector. It should start at around 9 PM from LTT and arrive in SBC by 3 PM and reach CBE by 10:30 PM, but the bus lobby is the reason it doesn't. Both Udyan and LTT CBE have LHB coaches, but SWR has yet to see the benefits of double track, electrification, and LHB rakes.
