Hey there everyone!
I had this thought in my mind since long that we know that Chakradharpur is one of the zones of SER, but Tatanagar, being larger than it, having more no. of trains halting and facilities is not. Why is it so?

The same way as raipur had nothing railway wise for a long time despite being a greater city in all aspects than bilaspur.
Ckp has been a dedicated railway settlement from the Britishers time and more rail infra and potential than both rourkela and tata.

It is because Chakradharpur has a bigger railway legacy than TATA. Chakradharpur and beyond was always a part of the HWH-CSMT main line namely ASN-CKP-ROU-BSP-NGP line or the Bengal Nagpur Line. Later the KGP-TATA-CKP line was built and the ASN-PRR-CKP line lost significance.
Similar case can be found with Gomoh and Dhanbad. Gomoh has a larger railway legacy than Dhanbad but just like TATA, DHN got lucky and ended up becoming a booming city.

R is a division in SER, but BSP gets all the railway attention despite R being twice to thrice in population when compared to BSP.
Similarly DDU is a very small town compared to BSB which is a metropolis, but has a bigger railway legacy.

Thanks for clarifying me🤗, it seems that railway is not bothered about population, it looks for strategically importance

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
