One thing to ask before doing any thing, atleast theoretically, in politics, is to ask how would it benefit the public? May I ask how changing station codes [assuming they are changed ] and changing station names to improbably long words is going to benefit the common public? If a city's name is Pratapgarh, why change the station's name ; they did the same in the case of Udhampur, where they created a disjunction between city and station name.

more... long run; not changing station names. Common public doesn't search for whose name/site a station is named for; they just wanna reach there. Sadly, politicians of all hue and color have come and gone and done nothing in this regard. It also reminds me of the case where they named another station after "Netaji Subhash chandra Bose" when an exact one is prefixed as same in Gomoh. Introducing complexity shouldn't be the norm.
