What's the issue with the Indian railways? Why are those with general tickets and unconfirmed reservations permitted to enter the sleeper class section? The overcrowding is severe. Many are forced to stand in the aisles, block the sink areas, and even the toilets are often occupied. This situation is problematic for passengers with valid, confirmed tickets as they can't sit or rest comfortably. Is there an alternative for middle-class travelers to have a more peaceful journey in this compartment? Some passengers simply board the sleeper class with their general tickets without concern, and it seems there's a lack of ticket inspectors (TTE) to monitor. Even if they do appear, many get bribed and just accept the fine, allowing the offenders to continue. It's both unsafe and inconvenient.

The capacity of long distance trains remained constant over the last 10 years as Indian Railways did not increase the capacity of these trains. The IR is only replacing old ICF rakes with LHB rakes, replacing SL coaches with more 3A or 3E coaches (to optimize the revenue potential and thus lesser losses from passenger services), and introduced around 50 Day time Intercity trains. iR is only stretching the existing train traversing distances. There is no additional capacity in berths, while the population has grown by at least 20 percent in last 10 years. Hence the rush in all reserved category trains. So, to avoid such scenes in our passenger trains, IR has to introduce at least 300 trains (average running daily) from current 3000 trains. IR either has no visibility nor planned for such expansion. Over last 10 years the discussion is around getting 150 to 300 trains by private...

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
