I don't think there is any rule that new trains can't be started during model code of conduct. Model code of conduct started on 16th March and 03546 Andal Bardhaman new Memu service (not a extension or any spl train as the no suggests, it is a permanent train which is running with spl number just like all other memu trains in India) was started from 24th March. The only restriction is that no political personality can arrange or take part in any inauguration event.
But yes, this new Ranchi Varanasi VB news, to be inaugurated within a few weeks as claimed by this article, seems to be a spicy news that hardly has any basis.

Yes but for the districts of Bengal through which this train is travelling, this train wont be of much use. If you carefully notice the pattern of labourers from Bengal who migrate to other states, specially to Kerala, you will find majority of them are from the minority dominated districts of Malda, Murshidabad, Uttar Dinajpur and northern Birbhum along with some parts of Cooch Behar and Sundarban areas. For the districts of Paschim Bardhaman, Bankura, Paschim Medinipur, a South bound train with only general coaches won't be that helpful

Dhn Anvt's response till now has been abysmal actually. 6hrs to go and still 800+ vacant seats. Apart from the Asn Anvt factor, another reason is the very late announcement of that train.

Anvt Dhn was recieving good response since it's reservation started. Dhn Anvt's one was not upto the mark. I believe the last moment announcement of the train along with the presence of Asn Anvt is the reason for this. Had they ran the Dhn one tomorrow, things would have been completely different

Also I believe the coach composition should be changed. Atleast 5-6 3AC should be added instead of having 19 SL coaches, Dhn provides good no of passengers in ac coaches.

First time a BG train will pass on newly Gauge converted Mailani Pilibhit section.
5hrs run time between Howrah and Asansol is way too slow. 2hrs has been allotted between Howrah and Bandel in both directions, that's completely insane.
