#ObservationsAtPune *** 9 Years Ago Today at Pune! ***
Following are the observations at Pune Station on 03-Jan-2007 from 17:30 to 18:30 hrs.
1) Towards Daund End of PF 6, there is pit line. In this pit line, two diesel locos, viz., Erode ED WDM2 # 17767 and Guntakal GTL WDM3A # 18795R were standing one behind another. Loco pilots in both locos were doing initial checks. GTL loco was the same as seen by me on 02-Jan-2007 near diesel trip shed (cement loading area).
2)
...
On PF 6, the rake of 2157 PUNE-SUR Hutatma Exp was standing. ED WDM2 was soon attached to Hutatma Exp. Hutatma soon left for Solpaur.
3) 1077 PUNE-JAT Jhelum Exp was ready to depart from PF 3 with PUNE WDG3A # 13050 Shakti leading the train. The same loco had brought yesterday's Goa Exp to Pune.
4) Two EMU Trains for Lonavala (LNL) were standing, one at PF 2 and other at PF 4. EMU at PF 2 soon left towards LNL.
5) Kurla Shunter CLA WDS4D # 19703 brought in the rake of 2128 PUNE-CSTM Intercity Exp.
6) Bluish Green PUNE WDG3A # 13040 Shakti was seen roaming. This had brought in Goa Exp today.
7) Kazipet KZJ WDM2A # 17541 was standing alone at pit line near PF 4 on Mumbai End of Pune Station. (My guess is that this loco would probably take out 1019 CSTM-BBS Konark Exp ahead of Pune towards Daund/Solapur side).
8) More Surprise Today! Yesterday I had seen VTA and JHS WDGx locos as surprise. Today, near PF 6 Electric Trip Shed, Rajdhani or LHB Liveried BL WCAM2 # 21868 was standing dead (with both pantos down). Ahead of this WCAM2 was Kalyan KYN WCAG1 # 21970 loco standing dead. In the trip shed, another KYN WCAM3 # 21948 was standing along with 1 more WCAM3, 1 BL WCAM1 (blue/grey livery) and 2 KYN WCG2 locos. Thus, at PUNE, 3 WCAM3 locos along with WCAG1 was seen.
9) In the mean time, InterCity Exp departed for Mumbai behind one of the KYN WCAM3 loco.
10) Kurla CLA shunter WDS4D # 19728 brought in the rake of 2129 PUNE-HWH Azad Hind Exp at PF 3 (from where Jhelum had departed before some time).
11) From Mumbai, 6011 CSTM-MAS Exp arrived behind KYN WCG2 # 20135. The train had customery red coach belonging to RMS (Railway Mail Service). One coach in standard CR Day Train Livery (blue/white second seating coach like DQ or Sinhgad Exp) was seen attached behind the last SLR bogie. This coach was locked, empty and last on the train (behind guard's van). The coach seats were burnt, etc. Probably, this is one the DQ coaches that was set on fire few weeks ago. They did not detach the coach at PUNE. May be, the coach is being sent to Perambur for repair, etc. (This is my guess though and can be wrong).
12) Two coaches marked "Tool Van" with numbers CR # 77216 and CR # 77225 were standing towards Mumbai end on one of the siding lines. CLA Kurla Shunter WDS4D # 19703 brought in the rake of 1022 PUNE-CSTM Indrayani Exp on PF 2. (Around 3-4 years ago, Indrayani rake always used to be on PF 1).
13) GTL WDM3A # 18795R (point 1 above) was attached to MAS Exp and the train left towards Daund (DD). Chennai Exp had board name indicating rake sharing between 6009/6010/6011/6012 Mumbai-Chennai Mail/Express trains.
14) Azad Hind Exp in the mean time got PUNE WDM3A # 18754R (blue livery).
15) Kazipet KZJ WDMx # 16600 brought in the rake of Pune-Solpaur Passenger on PF 1, waited there for few minutes and then took away the empty rake towards Daund End of Pune Station (Ghorpadi side stabling lines). This should be rake of 1555 PUNE-SUR Passenger departing PUNE at 22:50 daily. The railway lines on PF 1 and 2 have been painted with yellow color on side walls of I section beam. So the side view indicates faint yellow railway tracks!
16) KYN WCG2 # 20139 brought in the rake of Karjat-Pune shuttle on PF 6. The loco was soon detached. Then a blue livery PUNE WDM3A # 17910R was attached to this rake as the same rake would now run as PUNE-BRMT Baramati Passenger. The rake had complex board name "1547/1548/1548A -1553/1554 - 1623/1624 - 1625/1626 Pune <--> Daund <--> Baramati
1617/1618 Pune <--> Karjat <--> Pune" due to rake sharing between Karjat Shuttle, Pune-Baramati, Pune-Daund Shuttle.

Earlier KJT-PUNE-BMT shuttle used to come with WCG 2 ? That's a shocker for me, because i have never seen these shuttle and passengers with any E-loco other than pune/GY ALCO's and EMD's.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
