Just when you want to revisit the political influence on SWR, remember that out of the seven trains meant to serve Shivamogga, five get the SBC privilege, including two passengers.
Also out of the four trains meant to serve Kolkata including a Duronto, a Humsafar and an AC Express, zero get the SBC privilege.
PS: Platforms for trains from Shivamogga : Platforms for trains from Kolkata :: 3 : 7.

Did you read about Jan Shatabdi's extension to SBC yet? Also how do you justify the morning passenger going all the way to SBC and then being shunted back as an empty rake to YPR? All of this when you've the intercity running back to back?

I guess you dont have the update. Only Kannur is getting back to YPR. Date for JS extn is not yet finalized. JS to SBC was proposed due to water problems at YPR. For passenger train, this was a very old train even before the influence of BSY and BYR.

To conclude, I am not denying the political influence of BSY and BYR. I agree that it's only because of that new JS was introduced. But Kolkata bound pax didnt had problems with YPR. If they would have complained, WB bound

First of all Shimoga is in Karnataka while Kolkata isn't. . . and change in terminal of jan shatabdi had no political influence. . . it was result of Mallus wanting their Kannur train back to ypr. Besides remember Shimoga tri weekly being shifted to YPR? So where did the political influence go?
Mysuru - Talguppa Exp - Because it comes from Mysuru hence cannot bypass SBC
Talguppa Intercity - Again comes from Mysuru as Tippu so again cannot bypass SBC

Passenger - RSA with oncoming hubli passenger
Jan Shatabdi - Result of shifting of Kannur exp
Shimoga Night exp - started from SBC but shifted to YPR
Evening passenger - The only relief as being shunted from ypr

.
So what kind of "Privilage" and political influence are you exactly talking about here ??

I'm talking about the exact same outlook that we see people being complacent about through this very opinion. The very first line that has proudly been written up there. I'm not sure exactly where does this thought sprout from that "The very purpose of existence of SWR is to serve Karnataka" or Tamilnadu and Kerala are "SR's responsibility" or SECR is the zone for Chattisgarh, but, and I'm sorry to break it, this ideology cannot be any more flawed. Zones weren't made to compartmentalize railways' operations on a state to state basis. They were meant to better mange the demand-to-supply ratio through a finer management of the demands of the area under their jurisdiction. Irrespective of whether is one a Mallu or a Tamizhian or a Teluguite or a Kannadiga, irrespective of the language one speaks, if there's significant demand between two places, it makes sense to have train services to...

that region. Consequently, if the demand is not as much, it makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE to launch a fifth daily train to a place.
.
"Mallus wanting their train...". Who are we and who are they? Who creates this divide? This is what's wrong with us. Fun fact: It is an SWR train.

Lol . . . you write an essay on this but on the first place you yourself brought the places "comparison" here. . . Secondly, I didn't get the answer for my detailed reply on what kind of "Political influence" are you talking about when I clearly mentioned the fate of all the trains above. . . Still waiting

These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
