Bangalore has just one dedicated train Udyan.
Other two Chalukya and LTT, were originally meant for Bangalore but were extended and now have less quota. These cannot be counted as trains meant for Bangalore. If you see the TT of these two trains, it is obvious that these trains are made to crawl in SWR territory so that they start/ reach SR destinations at convenient hours.
Chalukya is made to crawl in and around Bangalore for 3 hours, but cannot be speeded up. Because it...
more... will not be suitable to delay starting at PDY/ TEN. While from Mumbai side, it can reach by 1800 but will reach PDY at odd hours and so not possible.
Regarding LTT CBE, can reach by 1900 at Bangalore, but then will reach CBE by 0230 which is not acceptable to SR. Towards Mumbai it has a horrible schedule and both days are wasted for bangalore passengers. Starting at 1600 and reaching at 1330 means two days wasted.
Reasons for not introducing a good SF between two cities are many.
If Udyan is taken over by SWR, extended to Mysore and speeded up, leaving MYS to SBC in GNWL, then nothing is lost for Bangalore passengers.
