There is not a single train for two major metros Mumbai and Kolkata originating from SECR.
The premium ones which passes by like Duronto have very limited seats for secr passengers.
Therefore I personally would have been more enthusiastic if it would have been introduced between 1:BSP to CSMT and 2:NGP to KOAA
Though the distance would have been slightly more but if...
more... Speed would be managed(as the name VB is meant for) then it would have been okay with chair car configurations.
Secondly, on this route no Premium trains like Shatabdi has been tested apart from Rajdhani which is meant for long distance and gets its share of pax from various big stations on route.
So I doubt about its big success until fares are in check.
Moreover introducing this type of premium trains uptil major metros is more beneficial if started from Tier 2/3 cities to get decent pax, otherwise there are several other routes also for consideration but the the above mentioned two destinations are much needed as there is no single one origin from secr.
