I don't think this to be happening in the near future as Govt of India has suspended import of high quality coal since COVID times due to high price and to save foreign reserves. Instead they are planning to Increase the local capacity.

So there will be more coal extraction and subsequently more freight movement in chhattisgarh. Adding to this there also seems a bad news that IR not interested in funding more DFCs.

Conclusion: Chhattisgarh people may continue to suffer despite quadrupling project of JSG-NGP as traffic is going to see a major surge in coming years.

The only solution comes to my mind is that there should be more and more new rail routes like Mahasamund- Bargarh, Katghora-Dongargarh, Raipur-Jharsuguda, katghora-Ambikpur-Barwadih/Renukoot, korba-Gumla etc. so as to divert the fright trains using Mumbai Howrah main line and ease the traffic.

Also since inception of SECR no new rail routes have been laid so far as can be seen.(decrease in length can be due of closure of narrow gauge)

Except the only ones being funded by PSUs like SAIL, SECL and NTPC through their Deposit funds.

The main problem is Chhattisgarh being having less parliamentary seats doesn't have powerful voice for its genuine demands and thus gets looted.
But still hope for the best.

I think so bcoz the matter has now shifted from ministry of railways to ministry coal.
And for the larger public interest GOI will always and has to support and secure uninterupted energy supply.

The only option to save this VB in my opinion is to connect this to nearest Tier-1 city Hyderabad with aggressive schedule and removing some halts like Rajnandgaon and gondia to increase it's AVG speed as could be seen it gets delayed most of the time, so people have started thinking of it as normal SF train and why to spend huge money for this short distance travel.
It could be win-win situation for both NGP and CG passengers.
Other extension could be upto Bhopal.

This is the most failure in VB trains. Just only 10-20% of seats are booking.
Most successful VB trains are
(1). Gandhinagar - CSMT.
(2). NDLS - SVDK.
(3). NDLS - BSB.

MAS - MYS(MAS-SBC bookings are good but MYS-SBC bookings are worst).

Most failure VB trains are
(1). NGP-BSP(only 10-20% seats are booking).
(2). NDLS-Amb Anduara(NDLS-Chandigarh 70-80% bookings are there but Chandigarh - Amb andhra has worst bookings. Similarly SBC-MYS bookings).

But EC coach bookings are good in all VB trains.

You must see that atleast one of the above-mentioned cites are Tier-1 major metros (Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai etc.) but in case of ngp-bsp none. This type of prestigious trains should always have one major Tier-1 city for better patronage. That's why from day one I was expecting the same about its future. Either it could've been Bsp-Csmt(if new sleeper VB are introduced) or Bsp-SC.

There is not a single train for two major metros Mumbai and Kolkata originating from SECR.
The premium ones which passes by like Duronto have very limited seats for secr passengers.
Therefore I personally would have been more enthusiastic if it would have been introduced between 1:BSP to CSMT and 2:NGP to KOAA

Speed would be managed(as the name VB is meant for) then it would have been okay with chair car configurations.

Secondly, on this route no Premium trains like Shatabdi has been tested apart from Rajdhani which is meant for long distance and gets its share of pax from various big stations on route.
So I doubt about its big success until fares are in check.
Moreover introducing this type of premium trains uptil major metros is more beneficial if started from Tier 2/3 cities to get decent pax, otherwise there are several other routes also for consideration but the the above mentioned two destinations are much needed as there is no single one origin from secr.

Bhai government is not an pvt ltd company. It has a huge responsibility towards the people specially marginallised and weaker section areas.
And according to your logic if revenue is the priority then what will be the difference between Britishers and present goverments. They also are doing the same exploiting the resource rich areas.
Also according to your logic the exploitation of resource full India was justified then by Britishers and enrouting the coal iron to britain.

Please don't compare Delhi vs chhattisgarh. Comparisons are only justified when one gets equal funds. But there is huge difference in allotments on ground so how can one compare two different states being on dissimilar grounds.

Sir it has been more than 20 years now the formation of secr. Still one thing I don't understand every zone gets atleast one or two new rail lines in every years budget but there has been not a single new rail line implemented by secr. Whatever the work is going on is bcoz of BSP, SECL, NMDC and NTPC with their own funds and not a single penny has been provided by secr in 2 decades.
They always recite the very old notion of unprofitability but i don't understand how can be the laying of rail lines in the states of Chhattisgarh Jharkhand and Orissa be loss making. Whatever be the expenditure occured in laying on tracks can easily be recovered

Bhai I am not saying the people of deprived areas need world class facilities but they surely deserve basic minimum facilities provided to all peoples of India(railways in this case as it is the cheapest means of transport). If railways cannot connect them(sarguja and bastar) to national capital in 75 years then atleast they should have been connected to their own state capital for acces to better education heatlh facilities after all they are also our very own deprived people of India.
